Calculators

Run your own numbers first.

Work out repayments, see what extra payments save you, compare rates before you refix, and check where your deposit sits. Then, if you want the numbers tested against real lender criteria, that's what we're here for.

Calculator 01

Loan repayment calculator

What a loan costs per week, fortnight or month, the total interest over the term, and what happens if rates rise.

Use the rate you've been quoted or want to test. Rates change and vary by lender.

Extra repayments calculator

Small extra payments compound. See how much interest and how many years a regular top-up, or a one-off lump sum, could take off your loan.

Fixed-rate loans usually cap extra repayments; break fees can apply. We can check your loan's rules.

Rental return calculator

Gross yield is the headline number; net yield and weekly cashflow after interest are what actually matter. Run all three.

Allowing a week or two of vacancy keeps the numbers honest.

A common rule of thumb is to allow around 1% of the property's value per year, more for older homes.

Set to 0 if self-managing.

Annual picture

Before tax and principal repayments. Interest-only lending has its own criteria and term limits, and investor lending carries LVR and debt-to-income rules. We can model the full picture with you.

The calculator we deliberately left out

"How much can I borrow?"

A single number here would be a guess. Borrowing power depends on each lender's servicing test, debt-to-income rules, your income type and your commitments, and it varies widely between banks and non-bank lenders. That's doubly true if you're self-employed, have complex income or have had a decline. Rather than give you a number a lender won't honour, we'd rather look at your actual situation and tell you honestly what's realistic.

These calculators give estimates only, based on the figures you enter and the assumptions described. They assume rates stay constant, don't account for lender fees, low-equity margins, repayment rules or individual criteria, and aren't financial advice or an offer of finance. Actual repayments and lending outcomes depend on the lender and your circumstances. Talk to us before making decisions.
